About
Who is WCBS?
Woodward Community-Based Services (WCBS) began in July 2006 to address the local demand for juvenile intervention and goal-focused support. Over the past two decades, we’ve expanded to meet the evolving needs of Des Moines and the entire state. Today, WCBS offers a variety of services for children, adults, and families, both at home and in the community.
We offer more than ten different services tailored to help individuals achieve their goals. These programs can be accessed at our offices, in homes, and in community settings, depending on individual preferences and program requirements. Additionally, telehealth is available for our clinical programs. Our offerings also include habilitation services, with 15 homes in the Des Moines metro area.
Each program focuses on different areas and caters to various populations, but every staff member is trained in our trauma-informed curriculum, The Sanctuary Model, and our de-escalation training, Ukeru Systems. Our aim is to equip our teams with the necessary tools to best support those in our care.
